Blogs - tool with many uses

If you look at Blogs in Plain English they define how a Blog is used differently than Dabbagh & Ritland describes them. In Dabbagh & Ritland they characterize it more as an individual application used for capturing reflective thoughts. I think I might want to have this type capability for each student with access restricted to only the instructor (if a course requirement) and the individual student.
